I'm Cassidy - Cass for short. I can't tell you how many times I've written this bio. Should it be written in the first person? Third person? I felt absolutely ridiculous writing in the third person as if I were writing a newspaper article about myself. So let's just do this instead:

I love art. I always have. When I was about three my parents got me the easel you see pictured to the left. I loved that thing and used it till I was much, much too tall for it. Whenever someone asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I always said, "artist". I was confident, I KNEW that's what I was meant to do. But then I grew up. Suddenly, being an artist wasn't an option. I needed to go to college so I could get "a real job". I was scared. Afraid I wouldn't amount to anything if I followed my dreams. Thennnn I met Michael. My sweet, sweet soulmate. He told me what the world didn't, he told me I could do whatever I I did. I started The Northern Craft and never looked back. Yes, I was still scared. But it was the kind of scared you get right before you get on a roller coaster, or bungee jump; not the kind that paralizes you. It was the good kind, the kind that makes you feel alive.

So now I make handwoven wall hangings or "weavings", in my home studio. Along with weavings, I sometimes paint. I've been painting since I could hold a paintbrush so it's something I'll always love.

Me and my crew - Michael the soulmate, Arbor the dog, and the two beloved cats - are currently chasing dreams once again and moving to New England. Trading coast for coast in search of some land, an old English cottage, and slow living. Don't give up on your dreams kids.
