The Northern Craft was born out of the desire to blend new dreams with old. From a young age, I was constantly creating art. I received my first easel at the age of three and when asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, I always replied with, artist. While in college I stopped making art completely. For almost 3 years I didn't touch a paintbrush or pick up a pencil and I was utterly miserable. I realized that in my fear, I had conjured up a fake dream in order to fit into the societal standard. After this realization, my perspective really started to change. I took a year to decide and in the fall of 2016, I walked away from my college career and didn't look back. Six months later, The Northern Craft was born.
Born and based in Northern California, I create hand woven wall hangings and painted works in my home studio. Among creating art, I also regularly teach painting and weaving workshops. When I'm not in my studio you can find me reading, chasing the sun, and surrounding myself with those I love. Accompanying me is my husband Michael. To him, I owe everything.
