Carrizo plain collection
Carrizo Plain National Monument is located in San Luis Obispo County, California. I knew I wanted to do a collection based off of Californias beautiful wildflowers and lucky for me, 2019 was super bloom year. Carrizo Plain is extremely remote and known for its wildflowers, hills, and beautiful landscape. It is the largest single native grassland remaining in California. It is home to 13 species of plants and animals which are federally or state listed as threatened or endangered such as the San Joaquin kit fox and giant kangaroo rats. Tule elk and pronghorn antelope have recently been reintroduced to the monument and we were lucky enough to spot some on our trip. We had the most amazing time exploring this hidden wonder. We were careful not to crush any wildflowers in the process of photographing this collection and want to remind everyone to do the same. Laying in wildflower fields can partially damage the land, causing it several years for the area to return to normal. We want to protect these beautiful places & the habitat they provide.
